Moldovan pres asks Gazprom for 10–15% discount for gas
CHISINAU, Dec 27 (PRIME) -- Moldovan President Igor Dodon has asked Russian gas giant Gazprom to provide a 10–15% discount for gas supplies, he said on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
“(I) applied to Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller with a request to provide Moldova a 10–15% discount for gas (as for countries of the Eurasian Economic Union). The cost of gas for Moldova more than halved over several past years. Correspondingly, it is necessary to lower the price of gas for final consumers as well,” he said.
Gazprom said in a statement that Miller and Dodon discussed issues connected with transit of Russian gas through Moldova to non-CIS states, as well as Moldova’s heating season.
